Voyagers’ Tales - Baudin

2020 Beaver Galleries, ACT

In 1800, Napoleon Bonaparte gave his approval for a voyage of exploration led by Nicolas Baudin to journey from France to Australia. The accompanying naturalists collected over 100,000 specimens, living and dead, of plants, insects, birds and animals. This exhibition of my drawings and paintings was inspired by that part of the Baudin collection acquired by Napoleon's wife, the Empress Josephine.
