Art Not Apart, 2016, New Acton Peninsula
This installation project combined paintings, found objects and a soundscape. Patterned imagery based on the forms of flowers, birds and animals is often used in homes. Its frequent usage reflects a common desire to understand and enjoy the natural world as an ordered and safe place. In this installation patterning was created by representing the ceramic bird music boxes as subjects of the paintings. A background soundscape of recorded bird song mixed with the music from a bird themed music box was be played as a continuous loop.
